In a thriller the Fremont Fremen staged a dramatic comeback then held on to
win over the Simi Valley Vikings by a score of 6 to 4 at Dodger
Stadium.

Fremont came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning plating 3
runs on 3 hits. Paul Janish led off and keyed the rally when he laced a
base-knock. Jay Bruce stepped up next and he tripled. Billy Butler then
blasted a two-run home run. Eric Hosmer was a strikeout victim, unable to
help out. Carlos Ruiz came to the plate and drew a walk. Brad Hawpe got his
chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Fremont out-hit
Simi Valley for the game, 13 hits to 8.

The win went to Ramon Ramirez(1-0) who allowed no runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.
Fernando Salas(0-1) suffered the loss in relief. He allowed 3 runs and 3
hits in 1 inning.

'The only way this one could have been better', said Ramirez, 'was if we had
played it at home.'
