The Simi Valley Vikings Pound Out 24 Hits and Win 16-8 Against Brew City Pitching to Sweep the Series and Move to (18-7)!

Francoeur and his teamates were an unstoppable force as they swept Brew City this weekend.

Everyone in the Vikings line-up had at least 2 hits, except for Vernon Wells who had one. Jeff Francoeur was 3 for 6 with a HR, scored 3 times, and had 5 RBI's.

Jeff Francoeur left the yard and had 5 RBI as the Simi Valley Vikings defeated
the Brew City Warriors by the score of 16 to 8 at Miller Park.
 
Francoeur had a big day with his bat.  He delivered a base-hit plating a run
in the 1st inning, laced a one-base hit knocking in a run in the 2nd inning
and clubbed a three-run home run in the 3rd inning.  Simi Valley provided
plenty of action in the 1st inning which saw them score 6 runs on 7 hits and
the 2nd inning when they had 5 runs on 5 hits.  Brew City was out-hit by Simi
Valley, 24 hits to 13.  
 
Jaime Garcia(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 8 runs. Jake Westbrook(0-1) ended up with the loss.  He saw his ERAjump from 3.07 to 7.88 as gave up 9 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
