Clayton Kershaw pitched a 3 hit shutout at Miller Park where the Simi Valley
Vikings beat the Brew City Warriors 2 to 0.
Kershaw(1-0) escaped virtually unscathed against the Brew City hitters. He
surrendered only 3 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Kershaw racked up 10
strikeouts. Simi Valley had only 6 hits for the night.
Luke Hochevar(0-2) was the loser. Kershaw didn't realize how many strikeouts
he was racking up. When told he had 10 he was obviously surprised, 'No
kidding? Man, I knew that I had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd
that many. Say, that's pretty good, isn't it?'
