Vikings topped the SoCal Wildfires by the slimmest of margins, 2 to 1.
Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings. Simi Valley won the
game in the 11th inning. Shane Victorino singled. Adrian Beltre stepped up
to the plate and he banged out a single, and an error was also committed,
giving Simi Valley the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Simi
Valley had a total of 8 hits for the game.
The win was credited to Steve Cishek(1-0) who went 2 innings allowing no runs.
Brandon League(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. He was a hard-luckloser, pitching 2 innings and not allowing an earned run.
