Designated hitter Nelson Cruz hit a homerun as the Simi Valley Vikings bested
the SoCal Wildfires 4 to 3 at Camden Yards.
SoCal never recovered after Simi Valley took the lead in the top of the 5th
inning scoring a single run. Fernando Salas pitched a perfect ninth to earn
his 1st save.
Clayton Kershaw(2-1) went 7 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. The
losing pitcher was Matt Cain(2-2). He was unable to control the Simi Valley
offense and allowed 11 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
