Dan Uggla rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Camden Yards as the SoCal
Wildfires won in their last at-bat beating the Simi Valley Vikings by the
count of 8 to 7.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. Paul Konerko drew a walk. Uggla
stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk. Steve Cishek then threw a
wild pitch. Mike Stanton stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases.
After an out was recorded, Ramon Santiago came to the plate and reached on an
error making SoCal the winners and sending the 39,555 fans home happy. SoCal
finished with 13 hits in the victory.
Cory Wade(2-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Leo
Nunez(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 1 hit in 1
inning.
'Uggla led the way - we just jumped on his back and let him take us,' Wade
said. 'I'm glad I don't have to face him. I'm glad he's on my team.'
